Migration
Migrate from adobe-firefly to ideogram.
1 documentation-derived translation pattern — what carries over and what to watch for. Cited to the Feature Parity Map; the audit tells you whether the move is worth it.
Rebuild Firefly's masked-edit workflow in Ideogram's Canvas: Generative Fill (add/replace/remove objects inside a brushed region) maps to Magic Fill, and Generative Expand (extending the canvas to a new ratio) maps to Extend. Upload the source image to the infinite Canvas, mask the area, and write the same fill prompt; use Extend with a target ratio in place of Firefly's ratio presets / Freeform crop handles. Reference-image guidance in Firefly fill is approximated with Ideogram's style references.
Gotchas
- Warning: Ideogram gates Magic Fill and Extend (and editing uploaded images in Canvas) to paid plans, whereas Firefly exposes generative fill on its free tier — the free editing path does not carry over.
- Warning: Neither tool's editor reproduces Firefly's automatic Content Credentials on download, and Adobe's commercial-safety guarantee does not apply to Ideogram outputs; Ideogram grants commercial rights on paid plans but no IP indemnification.
