Migrate from beautiful-ai to gamma.
2 documentation-derived translation patterns — what carries over and what to watch for. Cited to the Feature Parity Map; the audit tells you whether the move is worth it.
Both tools generate a full deck from a prompt, an outline, or pasted text and let you review an outline before slides are produced, so a team standardizing on Gamma can drop Beautiful.ai's Create with AI / DesignerBot. To move: re-create source decks in Gamma using its 'Generate' mode (prompt) or 'Paste' mode (drop the same outline/source text), and use Advanced Mode to refine the outline before generation, mirroring Beautiful.ai's outline-review step. Rebuild your brand once in Gamma's Theme Editor (colors, fonts, logo) so generated decks come out on-brand the way Beautiful.ai workspace themes did. For decks you must preserve verbatim, export the Beautiful.ai deck to PPTX first and use Gamma's 'Import' mode to convert it rather than regenerating, since regeneration will not reproduce the original copy and numbers exactly.
- Warning: Gamma meters AI by credits (creating a deck = 40 credits, AI image = 10, chat with AI = 10) whereas Beautiful.ai markets unlimited AI content generation on its paid plans, so high-volume generators should size a Gamma plan (or expect to hit free-tier credit caps) before switching.
- Warning: Beautiful.ai's Smart Slides auto-enforce layout, spacing, and alignment on a fixed slide canvas; Gamma uses fluid auto-resizing 'cards' instead, so the design-guardrail behavior differs and imported decks may need re-layout rather than landing pixel-identical.
- Warning: Beautiful.ai can add context from uploaded documents, URLs, or PDFs to ground generation; confirm the equivalent source material is pasted or imported into Gamma, as the two products handle source-grounding differently.
Both products export presentations to PowerPoint (PPTX) and PDF, which is the portability bridge when consolidating off Beautiful.ai onto Gamma. To migrate existing decks: export each Beautiful.ai presentation as editable PPTX, then use Gamma's Import mode to convert the PPTX into native Gamma cards (or simply keep the PDF/PPTX as an archived offline copy). Once content lives in Gamma, ongoing exports back to PPTX/PDF are available on every Gamma plan, so downstream consumers who expect PowerPoint files are still served.
- Warning: Neither export is a live-layout transfer: Beautiful.ai's Smart Slides flatten on export, and Gamma warns that gradient headings, some fonts, and very long or image-heavy decks may not render exactly on export/import, so expect to fix formatting after the round-trip.
- Warning: Gamma stamps a 'Made with Gamma' watermark on exports from Free workspaces (removed on Plus/Pro); Beautiful.ai has no equivalent free tier (Pro/Team/Enterprise only), so budget for a paid Gamma plan to ship unbranded exports.
- Warning: Beautiful.ai exports to PowerPoint, PDF, Google Slides, and JPEG, while Gamma exports to PowerPoint, PDF, and PNG; so for the PPTX/PDF migration bridge they overlap, but neither's full image/Google-Slides format set maps one-to-one - pick PPTX or PDF for the round-trip.
