Migrate from gamma to slidesai.
2 documentation-derived translation patterns — what carries over and what to watch for. Cited to the Feature Parity Map; the audit tells you whether the move is worth it.
SlidesAI's value is that decks live natively in Google Slides / PowerPoint. When consolidating into Gamma, preserve that portability by relying on Gamma's PPTX export: author in Gamma, then export to PowerPoint (PPTX) for anyone who still edits in Slides/PowerPoint, and use PDF/PNG export for static sharing. For round-tripping existing SlidesAI decks into Gamma, use Gamma's PowerPoint import to bring the .pptx in as a starting gamma.
- Warning: Round-trips are lossy in both directions: Gamma's card-based layout does not map one-to-one onto traditional slides, so exported PPTX and imported decks can need cleanup, and very long or image-heavy gammas may fail to export at all.
- Warning: Free-tier Gamma exports carry a 'Made with Gamma' watermark (removed on Plus/Pro), whereas SlidesAI output is just a plain native Slides/PowerPoint file with no added branding.
Replace SlidesAI's in-editor text-to-slides step with Gamma's AI generation. The SlidesAI prompt or pasted notes maps directly to Gamma's 'Generate' mode (topic) or 'Paste' mode (existing text); a SlidesAI document upload maps to Gamma's 'Import' mode. Move the per-presentation character input into Gamma's outline, use Advanced Mode to refine the outline before generation (the analog of SlidesAI's outline-review step), then export the finished gamma to PPTX if the team still needs the deck inside PowerPoint or Google Slides.
- Warning: SlidesAI generates natively into your existing Google Slides / PowerPoint file; Gamma creates a gamma in its own card-based editor and you must export to PPTX afterward to get a PowerPoint/Slides file, and exported gradients/fonts may not render identically.
- Warning: Metering models differ: SlidesAI counts whole presentations plus an annual AI-credit pool, while Gamma charges 40 credits per AI creation from a monthly credit balance — heavy regeneration burns Gamma credits faster than SlidesAI's per-presentation model.
