This is the biggest behavioral difference. In Perplexity every query is a grounded web search by default; in Claude web search is an opt-in tool. Go to Claude Settings > Capabilities > Web search and enable it. Then, in each chat where you want current cited answers, click the "+" button in the prompt bar and toggle on Web search. Expect to lose Perplexity's source-type focus filters (web/academic/social/finance/video) — there is no equivalent filter, so specify source type in your prompt instead (see translated prompts below).
