Migration
Migrate from fireflies to sembly.
1 documentation-derived translation pattern — what carries over and what to watch for. Cited to the Feature Parity Map; the audit tells you whether the move is worth it.
Move Sembly meeting capture to Fireflies: connect the calendar so the Fireflies Notetaker (Fred) auto-joins Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Webex calls, then relies on Fireflies' post-meeting transcription with speaker diarization. Export Sembly transcripts (Markdown) and notes/documents (Word/PDF) and store them, since Fireflies only transcribes meetings recorded after onboarding. Map Sembly's automatic task detection onto Fireflies action items, and rebuild Sembly custom note sections as Fireflies summary templates.
Gotchas
- Warning: Fireflies joins calls as a visible bot participant (Fred) that may require host admission; Sembly joins natively with no participant bot, so meeting etiquette and consent prompts differ.
- Warning: Fireflies caps transcript storage per seat on lower tiers (800 min Free, 8,000 min Pro) whereas Sembly limits retention by time window (1-2 years) rather than minutes — long back catalogs may need a higher Fireflies tier.
- Warning: Sembly's Semblian AI-generated client documents and role-based AI insights have no Fireflies equivalent; AskFred chat covers Q&A but not full document drafting.
