Migrate from grain to fireflies.
1 documentation-derived translation pattern — what carries over and what to watch for. Cited to the Feature Parity Map; the audit tells you whether the move is worth it.
Grain's clips/highlights/stories workflow maps onto Fireflies Soundbites. In both tools you create a clip by selecting transcript text on a recording, then share or download it; recreate Grain Stories as Fireflies Playlists (curated collections of clips from multiple calls). To move existing Grain content, export the clips you need (download as video and copy the clip transcript), re-upload the source recording to Fireflies if you want it re-clipped natively, and rebuild any Story as a Playlist. Going forward, let Fireflies generate clips automatically with Magic Soundbites and Keyword Soundbites instead of selecting every highlight by hand in Grain.
- Warning: Grain is video-first (clips download as a video file); Fireflies Soundbites can be downloaded as MP3 or MP4, and on bot-free Grain desktop captures there may be no video track to carry over.
- Warning: Grain 'Stories' are titled, sectioned reels aimed at voice-of-customer and roadmap; the nearest Fireflies concept is a Playlist, which is a flatter collection — section structure and Story-specific framing do not transfer one-to-one.
- Warning: Automatic clipping differs: Grain lets you highlight moments and turn transcript selections into clips, whereas Fireflies Magic/Keyword Soundbites surface clips automatically and may consume AI credits.
